Evolve was appointed to produce the 6th edition of the annual UAE Unlimited exhibition titled “Intimaa” at the NYU Abu Dhabi Project Space. This exhibition, in collaboration with the NYUAD Art Gallery and supported by the Ministry of Culture and Knowledge Development, showcased several works and introduced four new commissions by UAE-based emerging artists. The exhibition was curated by Emirati arts researcher Nasser Abdullah. Participating artists included Saeed Al Madani, a multimedia artist; Sarah Al Mehairi, a cultural cartographer; Sofiane Si Merabet, and Majd Alloush. Each edition features an established artist as a mentor and guest, with this year’s guest being Dana Awartani. A unique aspect of this year’s exhibition, “Intimaa: Belonging,” was the inclusion of newly commissioned bilingual poems by rising Emirati poets Ahmed Al Mannai, Ali Al Mazmy, Hassan Al Najjar, and Shamma Al Bastaki, all mentored by the award-winning poet, writer, and presenter Khalid Albudoor. UAE Unlimited, a satellite platform endorsed by H.H. Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, fosters the development of emerging Emirati and UAE-based artists. It promotes their work through strategic collaborations with art and culture organizations across the country, thereby enhancing cultural production and creating opportunities for local talent.
